Ten years to go

I'm late. It's true. I've broken my deadline two weeks in a row.

Between a sinus infection, travel, and work, I've not been able to take the time write out the Monday Motivation for this week, until now, and I don't have a lot of time now.

So here goes: short, sweet, and to the point.

Did you make some New Year's Resolutions? Are you working to keep them?

Did you set goals for the New Year? Will you achieve your goals? How?

Have you set overall goals for the new decade? How did you do in the last decade?

I looked back at the last ten years. They've been eventful, challenging, in many ways fulfilling, in other ways, un-fulfilled. I found that I didn't do as much as I wanted to do, but I still did quite a bit. I didn't accomplish everything I should have. Some of my problems now were my problems then. Some of the challenges I greet every day haven't gone away, while others have piled on in the interim.

But overall, the last ten years have been happy ones for me. I wouldn't want to relive them, and there were dark spots that I would never want to see again. But there were also the great times, the good times, and many of the best times in my life. It's been a difficult time for many of my loved ones, and for me as well.

But I have great hope for the future, and great belief in the ability of all of us to carry on, despite the task, no matter what the challenge.

So, carry on, and I'll hit my deadline better this coming week.
