THE POSITIVE PLACE. SALES MOTIVATION AND PERSONAL GROWTH
Determine your life.
Periodically, I come to the conclusion that everyone else seems to be having more fun than me.
It’s most likely true -- I’m not the partying sort -- but the truth is that I really dislike parties -- if I were at one, I’d not be having much of any fun at all.
Each of our lives is what we’ve made it. Some of us need to remake our life -- it’s not what we wanted it to be, not what we hoped it would be, and not what we want it to be.
For many of us, though, our lives, quirky though they may be, are the results of our own choices -- the jobs we chose, the people we choose to love or associate with, the decisions we make, the mistakes we’ve done, the successes we’ve had, and the triumphs that are ours to keep and to brag about.
Our lives, in other words, are what we’ve made of them.
Now as you contemplate that statement, some people will be depressed and others will be excited. But here’s the key: your future is not determined by your past. Your life can be greater, your successes more important, your choices more wise. You can choose the path you take, the life you live, the people you love -- in fact, you can choose your future, and you (and I) should begin right this very minute.
Our future is a blank story, a play not yet written, a choice not yet made. Our future is what we make of it, every day of our lives, and the future of tomorrow will largely be based on the decisions we make today.
Each day of our life, we walk upon a path to the future. Our choices guide our steps; our decisions determine our path. We are always the one who chooses how we will greet the morrow: with thankfulness, or with pain. We are the guide to our own destiny. Lead on!
